| Derren Brown buying stuff with blank paper |

This is pretty interesting huh? These are techniques I would never, ever use in this way. But they are possible. Why these people are oblivious to the fact that they are being paid with plain paper and not money has to do partly with distraction and diversion but also to the process we call "Generalization". Our minds often fill in the blanks. If something looks close enough, the mind just assumes it is what it thinks it is. That's why "eye witness accounts" are notoriously tricky in a court of law. We don't always see what is really there. Sometimes, more often than we want to admit, we see what we want to see. Notice the embedded commands "take it, it's fine, it's fine and feel okay" used in reference to his feelings about the subway but delivered at the moment of handing over the blank paper money. One guy, the street vender (used to con artists no doubt) doesn't fall for it. |

I once stood next to a magician who while having a casual conversation with a guy literally took off his watch. The guy had no clue. We spend an awful lot of our time in trance folks! What if you could learn to use this to help people get more of what they wanted in life and less of what they didn't want? notice he says "thank you, you're fine" as he walks away after taking the guys watch, wallet and house keys... What you may not notice is the way he originally touched the man. First offering then withdrawing his hand for a handshake then using very subtle light vague touch as he asks the man to hold his bottle. That's the first test. It's a suggestibility test. Again the point is not to use this stuff to take advantage of people but to use it to assist people who have asked for help in changing something in their lives. This is just one example of how we can get results when we connect directly to someone's unconscious mind.

| I couldn't resist adding
another one in...this guy is so amazing...it's such an excellent
example of Ericksonian embedded command structure...now imagine the
guy wanting to quit smoking or lose weight or forget a phobia... Derren Brown demonstrating embedded commands |

| Your unconscious mind can not process a negative. So if I say to you "don't think of a blue tree.." What do you automatically think of? That's right...See how Derren Brown induces what we call "number block." When's the last time you had something on the tip of your tongue but couldn't "pull it up"? Chances are you were doing to yourself what Derren is doing on this train. Enjoy! |
